What should the gantry machining center pay attention to when processing molds?

time:2021/12/20 16:14:46 Views:

Regarding the mold processing performed by the gantry machining center, if it is to achieve higher power and accuracy requirements and better appearance quality, it must be optimized from various aspects, such as machine tool selection, tool holder selection, processing plan and operator requirements. The following modification of the gantry machining center tells us what needs to be paid attention to in the processing of the gantry machining center?

        1. When the ball end milling cutter mills the curved surface, the top cutting speed of the ball cutter is very low. Assuming that a ball cutter is used to mill a relatively flat surface on the processing surface, the surface quality of the ball cutter head is relatively poor, so the spindle speed should be increased appropriately and other things should be avoided from being cut by the cutter head.

        2. When milling the disordered surface of the cavity, a longer cycle is generally required. Therefore, before starting end milling, the machine tool, fixtures and things should be checked correctly to avoid central problems, which will affect the machining accuracy and even ruin the molded product.

        3. In the milled curved surface parts of the machining center, if the parts are found to be poorly heat-treated, cracked, unevenly placed, etc., the processing should be stopped in time to avoid wasting working time.

        4. Avoid straight cuts. There are two types of flat-bottomed cylindrical milling cutters. One is that there are holes on the end face, and the edge of the end face is not in the center. The other is that the end face has no holes, and the end blades are engaged in the center. When milling a curved surface, unless the machining hole is drilled in advance, the end mill with a hole cannot be directly fed down like a drill. The axial force is large, so it should be avoided as much as possible. The method is to feed the tool diagonally downward, and then use the side edge to cut laterally after reaching a certain depth. When milling the surface of the groove, the machining hole can be drilled in advance for cutting. Although the effect of straight cutting with a ball-end milling cutter is better than that of a flat-bottomed end mill, do not use this cutting method because the axial force that will affect the cutting action is too large.

         5. When milling the cavity, the repair allowance should be properly grasped according to the roughness of the machined surface. Regarding simple machined parts such as planes and right-angle grooves, the surface roughness value of the machine should be reduced as much as possible to reduce the workload of filing, so as to avoid the machining center from affecting the accuracy of the cavity surface due to its large size.
