7 major structural features of gantry machining center

time:2021/12/20 15:10:59 Views:

The gantry machining center has the following structural features:

1. Workbench

The workbench of the gantry machining center is usually rectangular. In the meantime, the large castings such as the table, bed, column, beam, and ram are made of Meehanite's cast iron. The plan is very advanced. They have been treated with aging and secondary tempering to eliminate residual internal stress. The raw materials are relatively stable to ensure that the accuracy of the workpiece is stable and the service life of the machine tool will be extended.

2. Longmen

The gantry machining center is composed of 1 beam and 2 columns. It can be divided into three types: fixed crossbeam, fixed crossbeam by positioning block to lift in sections, and arbitrary lift and fall of crossbeam.

3 ram

From the structure, the ram can be divided into two types, the closed type. The ram of the open structure is clamped on the headstock according to the pressure plate, and the cross-sectional area of the ram is large; the ram of the closed structure is clamped in the headstock, and the cross-sectional area of the ram is relatively small.

4. Tool magazine

The basic forms of tool magazines are turret type, drum type, and chain length type.

5. Attachment header library

Gantry machining centers for large messy parts generally require a lot of accessory heads. The accessory head requires special planning after the processing of the workpiece, usually divided into right-angle head, extended head, special view head, universal head, etc.

6. Numerical control system

The numerical control system usually adopts SINUMERIK840C and 840D of German SIEMENS Company, and the 311 series of Japanese FANUC Company. The numerical control axis adopts fully closed loop control.

7. Precision

The accuracy of the gantry machining center refers to the original accuracy of the machine tool without external load. The accuracy is generally indicated by the error between its reverse side and the ideal state. The smaller the error, the higher the accuracy.
